Upgraded my 2700x to a 5600x. Everything else is unchanged. x470mb, 32gb ram @3.2ghz, gtx1070, Star Citizen installed on a 970 evo m2 ssd. Hangar module frame rate unchanged (duh), 80fps @1440p Lying in bed at GH: framerate went from 35 to 50+ (54 in one instance) Hz @1440p with a freesync display. Much improved framerates everywhere else in the 'verse but I have no exact benchmark because it would not have been a controlled comparison. Another difference is that if I drop down to 1080p it gives a big fps boost, whereas before it did almost nothing. So I knew I was cpu bottlenecked. I picked this up for the $300 MSRP and I'm keeping the old, beefier cooler that came with the 2700x. The only thing I don't like about the 5600x is the stock cooler, would have been better not to include one. I don't mind the drop from 8 to 6 cores because I've never run anything that ran more than 4 cores (except for prime95 I guess). Someday when GPUs are more reasonable I'll upgrade again. I refuse to pay a scalper.
