Hey there! I recently started tinkering with arduinos again and it made me want to create a custom button box. After searching a bit around the web I found a design I really liked by r/Moragor on Reddit (@Moragor ?) I want to create a box that is a bit more updated with today's game, so this is the current design I've skethed out. The button box should be able to be used with any ship, so I do not want specialized buttons for mining, salvage etc on it. Quick explaination of what you are seeing in the image: Front panel, will likley be 3D printed. White holes and sqares are cutouts for buttons, swithes or indicator lights. Power: Two way switch (with safety cover) Power distribution: momentary switches for increase and decrease power Target: Button Mode: 4-way hat with push (left right to cycle master modes, up down for operator modes) Utility: Two way switches for landing gear and exterior doors - with indicator LEDs Weapons: 3-pos switch for fire control (Locked, Gimbal and Auto), Buttons for chaff and decoy, 2 way switch for syn/stag fire modes) Shield: 4-way hat with push (increase power to shield in direction with push being reset) Comms: buttons for request landing/takeoff, accept or decline) Flight: Two way swithes with indicator lights for VTOL, Coupled mode and Cruise Control) Self destruct: Red button with LED and safety cover What do you guys think? Anything important missing? Or anything on here thats not at all needed? I dont play the game too much these days, so this is really just a guess based on other peoples designs and the layout of the ships ingame. Any feedback is welcome. I will update the thread as I progress.
