Pretty sure I know the answer here, but just want others advice. Got a CPU (Ryzen 5 3600 with some bent pins, but described as working beforehand), MB (MSI B450 pro vhd max) & RAM (16gb corsair vengeance 3200 - 2x8Gb) off of eBay for a budgety build. Was happy to take the risk. Put it together. NO POST. MB flashed CPU error for a few seconds, then light goes off. Tried everything. Single RAM sticks in all the slots. Made sure MB had all power cables plugged in fully. GPU in OK & plugged into GPU, not MB (since the 3600 doesn't have integrated GPU etc). RAM turns out not to be on the assured list.. hmm.. might be an issue, but should still get a post, or something. Tested PSU (Corsair RM650, new) with a multimeter - all plugs giving correct voltages on standby and powered. Bought a new MB. Gigabyte B550 DS3H. Still no POST. Nothing but spinning fans. Bought a little test speaker for the MB. Doesn't make a noise. Nada. No beeps. No POST. Nothing. So... PSU is good. 2 motherboards both won't POST & one is new. RAM is not assured for either MB - that might give me poop, but online people using the same RAM, especially with my new Gigabyte B550 DS3H are getting the RAM to boot up fine and then getting it to run at it's 3200mhz. I've tried it with and without the NVME Western Digital Black I've got. Makes no difference (not surprising since I'm not getting any beeps or anything from either MB). Doesn't matter which RAM stick I use or where I put it. So... I can't think of anything else I can do other than declare the CPU dead. Can anyone think of anything I might have missed?? I don't think there's a magic bullet here or that I've missed anything obvious. I'm happy to declare the CPU un-usable for myself and move on. Any advice welcome.
