Just switched over from dual VKB Kosmosima Pro's w/Gunfighter Mk.II bases to dual Virpil Alpha's with Mongoos T-50CM2 bases. My current setup is: Right stick (flight) No Center CosmSim CAM's on both axis Light springs on both axis Tension springs adjusted to max to set starting point, then backed out 14 full turns to lower tension Left stick (throttle) Soft Center CosmoSim CAM's on both axis Light springs on both axis Tension springs adjusted to max to set starting point, then backed out around 6-8 full turns to lower tension NOTE: I like the soft center on the throttle stick so I can feel the axis changes for strafing. I feel this is very important for maneuvering Previously with my VKB setup my right flightstick was set so soft that if let go from extreme angles it would barely center with zero bounce. I liked that as there was also no resistance across all axis (even at extremes) which I find best for space combat. However with my Virpil even with the lightest springs and tension backed almost all the way out it still bounces when returning to center if let go at extreme angles. Perhaps that is the norm and my previous setup was not. Looking for input. Basically I hate being able to feel the axis change when moving the stick corner to corner. The "no center" CosmoSim CAM's only give that feeling at center, but not as you go toward the edges. It's the one and only thing I liked about my dual T16000M's and X-52 Pro over these high end setups. I was able to mimic that pretty close on my Kosmosima's with a lot of adjustment though. Thoughts on this? Finally I have several extensions (100mm, 75mm, and 50mm) I would like to try on both the side mounted sticks (yes even the throttle stick), but need to extend my Monstertech profile mounts out as the stick hits the mount when going forward. I plan to order the slightly longer profile pieces which should correct that. Anyone else running side extensions? EDIT: Would like to hear how WarBRD may compare. Is the 50CM2 even on it's lightest possible settings stiffer than WarBRD? It has me very curious.
