His present system (which is on it's last leg) uses the venerable 1156 motherboard and i7-860 cpu with a GTX 660 2gb graphics card. His buget is $1500 and so far I've come up with the following build concept. I'm wondering what you more knowledgeable guys think of it. Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 Tohmahawk AM4 motherboard CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X CPU cooler- Noctua NH-U125 DDR4 RAM: Corsair Vengence RGB Pro 32gb (2X16) 3200Mhz C16 SSD: Crucial BX500 2TB 3D NAND PSU: EVGA 80+ Gold 750w Video Card: I have no idea as everything is hard to find and ridiculously overpriced. I figure he can reuse his DVD drive, and hopefully his case.
