Need to invest in a GOOD set of headphones as my GF is likely moving in. She's not going to be thrilled listening to my gaming sessions... Yeah, tried search first. Better than it was, not great. What I want is something comfortable to wear, high sound quality, and the ability to produce "spacial" sounds...5.1, 7.1, etc. Regardless, something that will allow me to hear someone trying to sneak up on me or shooting a weapon to my Left Rear while playing an FPS. DO NOT need a mic...don't even want one. Have a Blue Snowball I am rather fond of. What I need: Comfort - (duh?) Good high-end response - my high-end is about gone, product of WAAAY too many rounds of ammunition through firearms both from military service and my own stupidity as a younger lad. Build quality - Owned enough cheap plastic-y things in my life already Input - Prefer no USB. Just invested a ton of money into a Threadripper HEDT to include a sound card. Be kinda stupid to skip the better quality sound and control available to me. Quality music - Games aren't the only thing I enjoy that the GF may not...at 45 I've found an odd love for Trance EDM.../shrug I understand this may be an either/or thing and might need a second headset for good music. Cost - While I'm not looking for "budget", I'm also not thrilled at the idea of $400+ for headphones. If it is right and truly worth it, I would do so. ie, not a slight improvement...would need to be a HUGE improvement. A narrower field - There's a ton of options...too many for me to research well with limited starting knowledge of the subject. Narrowing the field to a decent number of units to look at would, in itself, be a massive help. Gaming, not Gamer - I do not need nor want more goddam RGB (swear everything I bought for the new desktop has it though I really didn't want/need it), flashy looks of any kind, etc. Just need quality with a proper feedback profile for game audio.
