Just installed a 2070 Super/Mini and it is not working right, but thinking it may not be the GPU. This is my older big box i7, that I havent used much since the last card went out or so I thought it was the card. When I try to launch this game, it states that I only have 4-5 GB of physical system memory and that I need at least 8GB. I put this game on my D drive, avoiding my C drive cause there is always less space on C drives. My D drive is nearly completely empty on my big box. I recently installed a 1660 Super on my small box i5 and it runs Star Citizen moderately fine. Of course I have a third Z drive installed just for games on that box, which has been my main gaming box for a few years now. My big box now runs hot and I get the feeling it's more from my CPU(Fan speed like mad) than the GPU but am by no means a computer wiz. This new 2070 has crap FPS and runs far hotter than the 1660 in my small box i5 and it's overclocked. I havent tried overclocking this new card, cause I saw immediate problems just trying to run Star Citizen. I had no plans to even try with this card, cause it should run the game quite fine without doing so. Adjusting the fan speed pretty high on the GPU barely kept the temp at 87c. My small box runs Kombuster at 71c, fully overclocked. This suggests to me that something else may be wrong with my big box, rather than the card. It's an ASUS i7, has 16x RAM and plenty of hard space memory. And I installed the latest drivers for the 2070 as well. Any ideas on what might be wrong?
