Just an interesting thought. When Star Citizen / SQ42 was announced, the GTX 680 was the high end desktop card at the time. The game was coming across as the next Crysis and I wonder how many original backers thought they would still have a 680 (or older) when the game released! Since then we have had the GTX 780 and then the 980. This was then followed up by the legendary 1080 which I remember Bored Gamer saying in one of his videos was overkill for Star Citizen. We then had the the 2080 which has amazing performance in non ray tracing games and runs any game under 4K almost flawlessly. We now have the 3080 cards which seem to be far better value and another decent performance boost. The 3090 is in a different league all together and finally seems like a card to comfortably handle 4K and ray tracing. I think the 3090 will be absolute overkill for SC and SQ42 at 4K. There is no doubt that we will have two more generations of cards (5080 / 5090?) before Star Citizen hits Beta so I think it's fair to say that it won't be our PC's holding back the games performance or potential. All eyes are on you CIG servers!
