Hello there, I'm trying to build a PC than can run SC at a decent amount of FPS. I've got a unique chance to grab any GPU I want for a short amount of time so I'm trying to think quick on that and the budget I want to spend on it. So far I wonder a few things, SC being on the old crysis engine seem to have different requirements than most games in terms of RAM/CPU frequency and whatnot. I've looked upon the Star Citizen Telemetry webpage to look at other's people rigs but we can only see their GPU and CPU which doesn't help much because some of them seem to have worse GPU/CPU than others yet more FPS (not a general rule of thumb but some of them do). My questions are the following : - Ryzen or Intel CPU ? Which one for best bang for the buck ? The Ryzen 5 3600X seem to have only 6 core but on SC engine I've read in the past that the number of cores is less important than Ghz, could be wrong though but this CPU seem like the ideal middle ground unless I'm mistaken. - Higher frequency RAM or more RAM for SC? For the same price I can either have 64Gb of 3200mhz, 32Gb of 3600mhz or 16Gb of 4000mhz - Not trying to overlook the motherboard, I'll grab one that can have 4 DDR4 slots, is there anything else I should pay attention to when chosing it ? - The GPU, well depending on what I chose above with the budget left I'll be able to either grab a 3060Ti, a 3060 12gb, a 3070 or a 3080. Should I prioritize the GPU over the others components ? - For the hard drive I guess the best is a 970 EVo ? - Anything else I should pay attention to ? Thanks for your help !
