Current specs: RTX 2070, I5-8600K, 16GB RAM, Motherborad: MSI Z370-a-pro I have heard that CPU gets "less" impactful at higher resolutions and settings. Usually I play at higher settings and at 2550x1440p, would a i7-8700k/9700k give noticable frame boost in general for gaming? I have done a bit of research on overclocking and decided to overclock my i5-8600k instead of buying a new i7. The i5 can now go up to 4.1 Ghz instead of the stock 3.6. Now I wonder, for general gaming and nothing else, is my overclocked i5-8600k 4.1 ghz more "powerful" than a stock 8700k/9700k at 3.7 ghz? I wonder because I am farming cash irl to buy a RTX 2080ti and I am afraid my 8600k will bottleneck it at ultra 2550x1440p 144hz Summary: -Will a i5-8600k overclocked to 4.1 ghz bottleneck a RTX 2080ti? -How impactful (framerate wise) is an i7 over an i5 in 1440p with higher setting?
