Long story short, my upgrade plans keep on getting delayed . A big focus of my new rig , besides obviously more power overall for more, higher detailed frames to monitor is... load times. However, after watching a few videos and reading some articles it's clear that game load times only differ by a second or two between a cheap SATA SSD and a Pcie4.0 NVMe drive.. Seems to be a lot of speculation and theories on why game load times don't get much faster despite faster controllers and better SSD performance , but I don't want more theories. ....I want to hear your experience. EXCLUDING your SSD what changes to your system has had the greatest effect on game load times and based on your experience was or is the biggest bottleneck to game loading times? ( I have now pushed back my upgrade to wait for the chip market to stabilize and for PCIe5 and DDR5. So I am not in any hurry but my system is showing it's age in a few games now )
