I'm trying to determine whether this is a Star Citizen issue, a Windows issue, or some combination of both. I run a dual-stick HOSAS setup, and occasionally one of my sticks will appear to change its joystick ID between game sessions. For example, when I was playing last night, my left stick was recognized and bound correctly. Today, after launching the game again, none of the bindings on that stick were working. When I go into the keybind menu and attempt to rebind controls, Star Citizen is detecting that same physical stick as a different joystick number than it was previously. This causes all of the existing bindings for that stick to stop functioning. What's strange is that this can happen without any hardware changes. I haven't unplugged the sticks, changed USB ports, restarted my PC, or modified my setup. Sometimes I simply close the game, come back later, and the joystick numbering appears to have changed. I'm aware that Windows assigns joystick IDs and that games rely on those IDs, but I'm not sure why they would occasionally change without a reboot or hardware reconnection. For those running HOSAS/HOTAS setups: Have you experienced joystick IDs changing between sessions? Is this a Star Citizen issue, a Windows issue, or both? Have you found a permanent solution? Are there any recommended tools or settings that can lock device assignments? Current hardware: VKB Gladiator NXT's duel left and right, left being the canted stick. Also have a GNX SEM module. Besides that, I have Tobii, Mouse and keyboard, stream deck connected, if that's even relevant. Any insight would be appreciated. I'm trying to determine whether I should be troubleshooting Star Citizen, Windows USB device management, or something else entirely.
