I backed Star Citizen back in 2016 but haven't played as it just wasn't ready to play in my eyes. I'm finally ready to give it a shot again as things seem to be more "playable". So I finally bit the bullet and ordered a HOSAS + rudder setup to immerse myself into Star Citizen. Hardware: VKB Gunfighter Mk.III Base w/ Space Combat (Right) Grip “Kosmosima” Premium VKB Gunfighter Mk.III Base w/ Space Combat (Left) Grip “Kosmosima” Premium VKB T-Rudders Mk.IV My (main) previous joystick experience involves an old CH Joystick that I used when I was a child playing Wing Commander. Since then I never really had any additional experience configuring joystick mappings. So initially I thought there would be some pre-configured/default setup within Star Citizen so I could easily start and just see what the default mappings were, but did not see one for my setup and only a few things worked from my left joystick. I did some searching for others default profiles but couldn't find my setup with my hardware. I mostly read it is better to setup from scratch and may take an hour or two to setup, but with my inexperience, I don't know what axis' or buttons should map to where in this type of setup. I know it comes down to preference, but am hoping to start with a suggested one before I tweak the mapping for my personal taste. And I will use my keyboard/mouse for anything I additional need beyond the HOSAS setup. (If it makes any difference) In Star Citizen I want to do more exploration with some light fighting. My starter ship is a Freelancer DUR. So can someone recommend with my current setup what a good mapping could be? Thanks in advance! Art
