So I figured it out. To setup your throttle in a more traditional manner, IE Forward is acceleration, back is deceleration/stop. Part 1 Options > Keybinding > Advanced Controls Customization > Select Joystick/HOTAS on the bottom right > Flight Movement > Bind throttle axis to "Throttle Forward" Part 2 Options > Controls > Select Joystick/HOTAS from bottom right(or whatever input your throttle is) > Flight > Flight Movement > Set "Flight Strafe Forward" to Yes.
