Could you guys give me a break-down on the most popular bases. I'm not going to be using extensions for my sticks. I own an Obottu R3v gaming desk, so I'll be mounting the bases to metal platforms that move up and down on the sides of my chair. Are the Warbirds a viable base? What are the differences between the Warbird and the other competing bases? In addition, I'm looking at the Alpha sticks. Is it worth it to get the metal finish on the sticks. Does it feel good enough to spend the extra money for the metal finish? How challenging is it to get this set-up and running in the game? I have a set of crosswind petals so I can take an axis off of my sticks to make things easier to control. Do all of those things make the initial set-up challenging? I'm about to invest in Virpil Alpha sticks. Any advice for a guy that's never owned a Virpil product would be appreciated.
