TL;DR: I need to reduce Star Citizen's CPU usage. What are the best things to turn down? I've been having some strange crashes after playing Star Citizen for a while lately, often ending in a BSOD unspecified hardware error or an ominous BIOS message saying I have no boot device. Hardware tests reveal no disk problems. I noticed my battery was low after this happened 3 times yesterday, despite being plugged in the whole time. After some research, I found out my laptop can actually draw more power than the AC adapter provides when under a continuous high load and supplement battery power to cover it, and I think it's when the battery taps out that I get a hardware error. I have a HP OMEN 17 laptop, 6-core Intel I7 about two years old, and GeForce RTX 2070. My CPU is at or near 100% all the time with Star Citizen running, and I think the GPU as well. I already have the game on medium settings. I need to reduce the CPU and possibly GPU load. Recommendations? Update: So what I've found is that my GPU is running 50-75% and my CPU is constantly running 100%. I don't know what Star Citizen is doing to keep my CPU at 100% solid. Turning graphics down is probably not going to help that. Is there anything that an be done about it?
