I bought the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse some days ago and have tried everything I can to get it working with Star Citizen. It works perfectly in Fusion 360 so I know it works :slightly_smiling_face: Anyway, I tried it natively, I tried it with ControlMyJoystick (demo via Steam until it works), I tried with older 3Dconnexion drivers, I tried vJoy, HidHide, Joystick Gremlin, and probably a few more without any success. Maybe it's me and the learning curve is steep on these programs and I just haven't done it correctly. Anyway, I found a few videos on YouTube but most are several years old and it just doesn't work - except this one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztmMbC693m, that is very new. The problem is that this one isn't a tutorial so I have no idea how this guy set it up - but he get it working. Crossing my fingers he will release a tutorial of how to set it up. My best hope is ControlMyJoystick. However, on their page it says that the latest 3Dconnexion drivers have broken how ControlMyJoystick works and their next version will fix this and to use an older version of the drivers. Doing so the drivers have stopped crashing, but I still doesn't get it to work. And just waiting for a new version of ControlMyJoystick isn't fun when you don't know when or if it will release. Saying I don't get it to work doesn't mean at all. I can map the movements and it seems to be working in the settings, but when I try to use it the values doesn't appear to be absolute. Just a little nudge on the SpaceMouse and it keeps moving and is impossible to control - it doesn't go back to zero when I release the SpaceMouse. I've gotten this exact problem natively and with ControlMyJoystick, but when using ControlMyJoystick the movements seem to "stack" as if they come from two controllers at once. A common problem when using joystick emulation, but I was hoping since ControlMyJoystick is payware it would actually be able to fix this. I'm about done trying to get the SpaceMouse to work. Makes you wonder why it's so hard and why 3Dconnexion just haven't made a full joystick driver for it. Maybe the durability isn't so good and gaming with it will really wear it down, so they just don't support it. Anyway, are there any full tutorials out there that have gotten this to work? I really need a full tutorial because now I'm completely lost in all these applications that are supposed to fix this. The absolute best option is for Star Citizen to natively support the SpaceMouse, but not sure if they will bother since it's not a gaming peripheral - but come on, look at the name :slightly_smiling_face: UPDATE: I forgot this, but I did try sx2vjoy and vJoy and it definitely have the best promise, but for the SpaceMouse Compact (the one I have) it only maps the xyz axis and not rotational, making it 3DOF and not 6DOF - which is completly useless. And the dates on the files seem to be old so I don't have any hopes for an update to sx2vjoy. ANOTHER UPDATE: For those looking to use the SpaceMouse as a joystick without any 3rd party applications I made a tutorial. Feedback appreciated :slightly_smiling_face:
