Lately i'v been enjoying turning off completely antialiasing in games, and using instead new(ish) Nvidia's DLDSR. Path of Exile and Warframe specifically getting very significant visual improvement (meaning you don't have to squeeze your eyes to be able to notice it, it's super clear right as you apply it). And still easily been able to run at 75+ FPS, at 1440p (actual) resolution. Now DLDSR, unlike DLSS can be applied to any game, however just like DLSS still limited only to 20xx, 30xx and upcoming 40xx Nvidia series. FSR 2.0 however is not. Even though it's proven to be less efficient (both visually and performance-wise) to DLSS 2.0+, it can run on any GPU, including older Nvidia GPUs (and purportedly actually runs better on older Nvidia GPUs, than on older AMD GPUs). Of course unlike inferior FSR 1.0, FSR 2.0, just like DLSS 2.0+ actually have to be implemented in game's code. And lets be honest, it's far-far superior to temporal antialiasing (or any antialiasing in that matter). Not only reconstructed upscaling makes much sharper image, without generating new visual artefacts (like with general sharpening techniques), it also IMPROVES performance along the way, rather than decreasing it. While still perfectly negating so called "pixel jaggies" artefacts. There still few hiccups, where in rare situations upscaling creates new visual artefacts (FSR 2.0 more so compared to DLSS 2.0+). But those are far more tolerable than pixel jaggies, overall blurred image, or new artefacts generated by older sharpening techniques. So. 3 things. First of all i hope CIG considering implementing at very least just FSR 2.0 into the game, removing TAA completely. Second, obviously, it still would be nice to have DLSS 2.3(+) as well. There is significant amount of ppl who have 20xx and 30xx series cards. And DLSS just plainly better. And third, plz bring back option to disable antialiasing in game completely. It is possible right now to run Star Citizen with DLDSR. However game still will apply TAA at the same time. Which not only would make significant performance drop, but actually making it visual sub-ideal. As DLDSR meant to be run alone, without any other antialiasing interfering with it.
