Evening all, I've just purchased an M.2 SSD (WD Blue SN550 1TB NVME M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3) and I wondered if anyone here has experience of the load time difference i should expect to see. Loading times are the main reason I'm not playing SC as often as I'd like to right now. It often takes upwards of 10 minutes to go from desktop to awakening in my SC bunk. I'll often take at least twice as long as others i join a server with. I currently have SC installed on a generic SSD connected via a SATA cable. The problem is that either due to the cable, the drive or the interface I seem to be getting very low read/ write speeds. A CrystalDiskMark test showed sub-50 Mbps speeds. I've made several half hearted attempts to find the problem, but rather than trying to invest too much more time fixing an aging PC I may not have for much longer, I've opted to purchase an M.2 SSD in the hope that this separate interface will bypass whatever problem is causing my current slow speeds. At the very worst, I'm going the new drive will be a useful addition for any new system I purchase. Does this logic sound flawed to anyone? I'm interested in any thoughts on this, any idea of the likely performance increase, and any similar experiences.
