I change my PC once per decade and I had been waiting for this CPU to drop. Next month it will be on the market. Problem is, I've not built a system in over a decade so I'm very rusty on matching components. Right now my main concern is the mobo/ram/cooling to go with this cpu. From research I do want the X670E since I do want to have at least 2x PCIe 5.0 slots and it basically future proofs me from having to change the mobo until next decade rolls by. At least I hope it does. So far I have these options selected: CPU: Ryzen 7950X3D - Out in Feb 2023 Mobo: ASUS ProArt X670E-Creator ( https://www.newegg.com/asus-proart-x670e-creator-wifi/p/13-119-589 ) - Best mix of stuff I've found. 10gb ethernet connector, seems to have great sound, 2x PCIe5 slots plus 1 PCIe4 and good M2 capability. RAM: I'm stuck on this one. The mobo allows up to DDR5 6400 under OC and up to DDR5 5600 non-OC. The 6400 has CAS of 32 The 5600 has CAS of 28 Which would be better performance wise for a 2x32gb stick setup? Cooling: Also lost on this one. I assume a water cooling option would be best but I've never had one so I am not sure what to get or what kind of maintenance is expected to be done on it over the years. Any suggestions? Other info: PSU is 1000W, modular, gold certified. SSD for now will be an M2 1TB PCIe4...the PCIe5's aren't out yet. GPU is an RX6700XT 12gb I already have on hand.
