I have an NZXT Full Tower, ASUS Maximus VI Extreme MB, i7-4790K CPU, NVIDIA GTX770, CORSAIR H115i Pro liquid cooler. The build is about 5 years old. The ASUS MB is an ROG (Republic of Gamers) build, which has a dedicated display showing a digital readout of CPU temperature. When I first built it the CPU (non-gaming mode) ran at around 26-28C. In gaming mode it ran around 40-45C. As time went by the non-gaming temp drifted up to 31-35C and gaming temp went up to 55 - 60C. Recently I started noticing the non-gaming temp was staying around 45 - 50C and gaming around 65 - 70 - 72C. Also when I enter large SC Space ports the temp can jump to 75C and varies as I travel the Verse. I am very diligent, I vacuum my system's inside completely once a month. Besides the 2 fans that are part of the Corsair cooler, I have 5 other fans. I changed the thermal paste twice using newly ordered MX-4. I read some articles which talked about air permeating into a closed system over time, and that if air builds in the pump it is much worse than if it gathers in the radiator. Having read that I removed my cooler system and hung it up so that the pump was at the very bottom and the radiator at the top. I let it hang there for a couple of hours. Then I was careful never to let the pump and hoses be higher than the radiator. Nothing seems to correct the problem. Today I received a new Corsair H115 RGB Platinum cooler. I am hesitant to replace the older version for fear it won't fix the problem, meaning I spend $220 needlessly. I am looking for any suggestions that might point to some other reason that might explain what is happening above. Any suggestions? Does it look like a cooler going bad? Thanx in advance, Ke!vin
