Hello guys It's my first time trying to use HOSAS and it's great but maybe someone who uses it can help me out with two things. Firstly, I'm using BuzzzKiller's mappings which are great, I love them but, every time to use a scanner I need to go into full scanning mode which is not optimal! You see, on KB + M you just hit "TAB" and you can "quick scan" (or ping?) without letting go of controlling ur weaponry. Here I need to do button dance to get into the scanning mode and then to leave it to start shooting. I don't like that, I have mappings chart but I don't see "quick scan" anywhere there, but maybe I'm blind and You guys can tell if I missed it. Or if it's not available on this chart, can I actually manually add it? So the left stick's main trigger (trigger u use with ur index finger, I have no idea how to call it) is used as a modifier and the right trigger is used to shoot. When I turn off "the important note's option" lock ping controls to scanning mode - I can actually scan my surroundings without going into scanning mode itself but the thing is my ship still shoot's the primary weapon. If it didn't it would be exactly what I wanted. Another thing is, can I actually turn off mouse control of the ship's flight completely? Every time I leave my sticks and grab mouse my ship goes bananas with pitching and yawing. If possible I would rather have only "look around" mode set to the mouse - if that is possible it would be great. I'm sorry if it all sounds a little bit chaotic, it's very early morning in EU right now and I'm just getting my coffee up. I'm uploading this mapping chart so You guys can have a look at it. Please help me out. :slightly_smiling_face: PS: Thank You BuzzzKiller for setting up this wonderful thing! And Im sorry if I posted it in wrong section. EDIT: If someone else finds themselves having the same problem as I did, here is the solution I figured out (with help of the creator who kindly responded to my comment under one of his vids). First problem: You need to keep "lock ping controls to scanning mode" off. If you want to be able to ping your surroundings while having your weapons ready, you need that. Otherwise, You will be forced to do button dance, going into scanning mode and then pinging - which works just fine because this does not trigger your primary weapon group. But I find too inconvenient to use. So what I did was kept that option off and then remapped radar ping function to a different button. This is how You do it: 1) Go to your key mapping xml file in mapping folder in Star Citizen installation location. 2) Find two sections, the one you are going to switch from and to (You can do search by word "radar"). In my case I switched to button R-4 on the right joystick, so you search that place as well, either by the function that is assigned there or by the code of the button itself like "js2_button4" - I don't remember exact wording, just look around, and you will figure it out. 3) Next you need to switch lines, if You don't know what exactly to switch just copy entire line that starts with <input>. Switch places of both inputs, or you can just discard the function you don't want (like voip or smth), the bottom is to assign that new input to the section with radar ping. 4) Save the file and remember to load it in game again, You don't actually have to close entire game, You can do some changes, save the file and then load it in game. That's how I did it, I ended up switching around a few functions to more convenient places, if any of you will be interested I can share my xml and the chart with changes I made. Second problem: Just go to the mouse controls in SC bindings section and unbind axis y and x for pitch and yaw. It will make your default action be "look around" with mouse. More so, it won't disturb your stick's flight control, so You won't have to switch free look on and off constantly. It works seamlessly. While at it, you can actually unbind fire groups with mouse buttons as well.
