So I got bored today and was looking around to see if I could find a good small modular ATX PSU to fit my mini ITX build. As my current one is at the 3 year mark, it was never very good to begin with, and I need to replace the CMOS battery anyways. I mostly bought it because it was a great deal. I perfer ATX over SFX because I need the PSU to cool the case and this build is rather small and unique for a gaming machine. I started to realize that I hadn't even looked at PSU's in a year or more and that there is now all these great PSU's out there. Maybe its just me, but Seasonic looks like they went to another level this past year. I see Corsair has an impressive line up too. I came across these new Seasonic Focus Plus Gold PSU's as I was checking dimensions (they are small). Man Seasonic has a very impressive new line up. The 850 watt is the size of my small 450W Corsair I have been using, it gets a high 9 rating on Johnny Guru and the price on these things are low. They range from 550W-850W, gold and platinum version all with uber line noise, efficiency, fan type, 10 year warranty, size, on/off hybrid button, and price. Only thing Johnny Guru really faulted them for was having a cap in the MB cable. If anyone sees someone shopping for one, its hard to find the competition. I know some of you don't care about saving a few millimeters in your cases or $, so they also have a bigger better "prime" line up for you. I even see a 10 out of 10 on Johnny Guru for the 750W Prime but its expensive. Anyways back to the Seasonic Focus Plus PSU's these are some good prices for Uber PSU's with 10 year warranties. https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=seasonic+focus+plus+gold&N=-1&isNodeId=1 I don't work for them. Just thought I would share.
