I find myself in the unfortunate (sarcasm) situation that I need to build a new PC gaming rig... My wife will be inheriting my current rig which is totally more than capable, and I'm going to build a new beefcake... Back a few years ago this forum had a locked thread for PC builds, and now it seems like the new format is just a lot of individual questions.. maybe I missed the PC build mega-thread. But, in case I didn't - what are the current recommendations for a monster gaming rig? 1. Case 2. Power Supply 3. CPU 4. Cooling 5. SSD 6. Graphics Card(s) 7. Ram 8. Motherboard Looking for "best-of" in all these areas... I want to future proof as much as possible of course. This rig is for Star Citizen, other games and VR... Located on East Coast, US... Budget is not really a constraint (around $5-6k), but I do want to get value and not just be wasteful. A new side notes... I believe NVidia might be coming with the next gen 2080 in January? Is that right? Also, I am somewhat partial to Intel...
