HI guys I'm currently building a PC and I'm a little confused about the choices retailers of prebuilt computers make. I just bought an AMD Ryzen 9 7900 CPU and an ASUS Radeon RX 7900 XT. Those two alone draw 750 for the GPU and 65W for the CPU, making it at least 815W at max power consumption, and I haven't added up the power all the rest of the PC components onto of that. My logic is that the PSU should be able to handle the maximum power consumption possible, but that's more from my line of work than anything else. Yet I see retailers pair these two components up with a 750W PSU? Is it because the GPU and CPU are not expected to be drawing full power at the same time? Can I reuse my old 750W PSU? (Silver Power SP-S750 750W PSU) Should I upgrade to a 1000W PSU?
