I'm currently using a G13+Mouse. It's better than KB+Mouse but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming to have so many controls on one hand (forward/back, left/right, up/down, roll left/right, plus every button). I feel like pedals could naturally take over forwards/backwards and possibly roll as well. As such I've started looking at pedals and am not really finding a good solution. CH and TM: Decent price but I'm concerned about the smoothness, precision, and longevity. If they're not consistent and accurate I might as well stick with my current setup. MFC Crosswind: Seems great but at roughly $375 I need to find more justification to buy it because I don't play many flight sims. Would this do well in driving games? I'm worried it might be unnatural compared to a more standard 3 pedal clutch + gas/brake. Does anyone use them for other games like Mass Effect, strategy games, or things people might not initially consider? Driving Pedals: Not sure which model but a decent/good 3 pedal set would be cheaper than the Crosswind and also have more obvious use cases. However, while it would give me forwards/backwards I don't see how it could do roll so I'd still have to use my left hand for that. Perhaps the extra pedal for boost, coupling, or something else would compensate? DIY: I'm confident I could build something to have both 3 driving pedals and a rudder slide for the left 2 pedals. Best (and ugliest) of both worlds. Not so confident with the electronics. Perhaps I could buy some cheaper controllers and scavenge their parts to simplify things? What items to scavenge for 3-4 non-contact sensors though, or if I did it completely manually are there any good resources for this? Anyone have thoughts or suggestions?
