So, I got me a spankin' new pair of TFRP pedals to go with my FCS ,for my birthday, and - like the madman that I am - I set them up to control my yaw axis. Yes, yes, I know - a lot of folks bind pedals to control roll and keep yaw bound to the joystick X axis. However, since I'm also using my HOTAS/pedals for E:D (where most turns are done through a combination of roll-and-pitch) and - more importantly - Microsoft FSX (where using the pedals for anything other than the rudder is unthinkable), I've come to the conclusion that keeping things consistent is the way to go. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else in the community is using pedals for the yaw axis and whether they'd be interested in trading notes. After a couple of hours of play I'm just about getting the hang of going where I want to ("Curse you, muscle memory!"), though I expect to be making a fool of myself in AC for some time yet. I have to say that pedal turns are oddly satisfying, compared to using the joystick. I'm getting some really nice drifts when racing the Mustang Gamma, that I don't recall seeing back when I just used the joystick. I've got the default 1:1 curves and zero null-zones set up for now, but I'm wondering whether I should tweak them a bit. Anyone got any advice to offer? Also, I'm wondering whether anyone has come up with a use for differential toe brake axes in SC. I'm considering using TARGET to perhaps set up a joint axis for them - perhaps to control one of the translations. Currently all my strafing is done by way of the mini-stick and rudder paddle on my throttle, but perhaps I could get the pedals to do something useful here as well. Thoughts?
