Im not extremely versed in the art of GPU differences, but Im considering building a new system, and one of the things I will want to do is play and record in 4k ultra settings (and potentially stream as well with 2 monitors). Ive been checking out the telemetry page, and Im noticing that the GTX 1080 seem to be able to pull 60 avg FPS on 4k ultra just as well as its way bigger brother RTX 2080 as long as it's paired with a good CPU. So basically what I want to know is: Do I NEED to get the latest and greatest GPU like the 2080 or will a 1080 be just fine paired with a good CPU and lots of ram? Is the 1080's days numbered? Is the 2080 worth it? Is there more magic to it? You know, the classic questions.
