I initially bought the 7900X3D due to availability and urgency. I now had the opportunity to swap to the 7800X3D. Since my PC is gaming only I went for it. I can honestly say that they feel the same in games. I still had some 30 FPS areas at 3840x1600, so there were no improvements to very demanding areas like that open space just after the habs in Lorville. In space I hit over 100FPS, but I did the same with the 7900X3D. So when considering which to purchase, base yourself on your productivity needs, especially since with current sales both can be had at the same price. If you need more cores get the 7900X3D.
