So I have the green light to spend around £350 on a new cpu in the new year. This means that the Ryzen 1800x and i7 8700k are both within budget but which would go for and why? I think that the 8 corcore ryzen will be good for SC but the single core clock speed is way behind that of the i7 and I am assuming that SC will need a high clock speed. I also play DCS, Squad and arma (Will go soon) all of which use a single core and so favour higher clock speeds. But will a six core be enough for future games?
