I haven't spent much time in the Khartu-Al, but seeing how the pilot manipulates the controls, I can't help but salivate at the thought of one day having a Xian HOTAS. I suppose the top, spherical parts could be crafted out of those old school arcade machine balls (you can still find them in use in many modern Golden Tee machines). Probably will have to be made by a third party or custom made. Talk about immersion!
