Howdy, I wish I would have stumbled across this a couple months ago. I wanted to post this has I thought my new build was literally unplayable on Star Citizen. I was getting what I thought was low fps on my most recent build. At the same all other apps and games just flew, even getting 99% on 3dmark tests. I'm a long time player so I had a good idea which NVIDA settings to go after, and what to tweak in game. Looking for that magic cache or v-sync box to find to uncheck. Still this didn't help. There is a lot on spectrum how the game is CPU intensive and finally tweaking that made all the difference in the world. The main problem was this stuttering, that could look like lag or graphic setting being off, but it was so consistent, it happens all the time, and made the game a lot worse then the system I was upgrading from. You could literally stare at wall, and see slight very small regular pauses. Finally I stumbled on disabling E cores on Intel chips. A little blurp from Intel on what they are: "Within each model of 12th-generation Intel CPU, you’ll find E-cores (Efficiency) and P-cores (Performance) in the CPU package. The relative numbers between these two types of core can vary, but the full Alder Lake CPU die has eight P- and eight E- cores, which is found in the i9 CPU models. The i7 and i5 models have an 8/4 and 6/4 design for P- and E- cores respectively." You can disable the cores in your BIOS, or making argument on a shortcut of the launcher. For what I really use my PC for, the e-cores where a waste of CPU cache, voltage, and extra heat. If your running the right application, and it takes advantage of the e-cores, you may have a need for them. When I shut them off, my games, fps rates. Gigabit has nice BIOS feature just called Gaming Mode, so I just used that to test out what I thought would be another failure. I could tell before I even hit 'Y' and got out of bed there was a massive difference, no stuttering at al. There is a lot you can do here(p-core and c-core individual usage) and I highly recommend you check it out. Its made a huge difference in all my games. If anyone has some more good links on this, please post them.
