Greetings Citizens! O7 We all know it: Star Citizen is a gorgeous, ambitious game that pushes the boundaries of what's possible in gaming. But this ambition comes at a price: our PC specs. Currently, to fully enjoy the Verse in good conditions, you need high-end hardware. Many of our friends, returning players, or potential new Citizens simply cannot join us because the hardware investment is just too heavy. That's why I'd like to propose an idea that would benefit everyone: CIG should officially opt-in to add Star Citizen to the Nvidia GeForce Now catalog. As a reminder, GeForce Now isn't a new platform to develop for. It's simply a PC in the cloud. Players would still buy their game packages on the RSI website like everyone else, but play through Nvidia's servers. Why this would be great for Star Citizen and CIG: Massive accessibility: Gamers on older PCs, Macs, or even traveling with basic office laptops could finally play the game. More funding for development: More players able to run the game means more Starter Pack and ship sales, further supporting the game's development. Zero development cost: CIG doesn't need to do a "port". Nvidia handles the technical side; CIG just needs to give their legal consent (Opt-in to GFN). A perfect technological showcase: GFN players with the Ultimate tier would be playing on RTX 4080 equivalent rigs. The feedback on the game's performance (on streams and YouTube videos) would be excellent, showing the game in its absolute best light.
