I am making this thread for the chance to talk about some of the funny events or mistakes you have made when putting your builds together. With that being said, consider sharing some stories of your early builds and some of your goofs. Last night I finished putting together my transplant of my AMD FX-8370 system into a new mid tower case and a smaller 750 Watt Corsair PSU. I did this because I want to turn it into a data/ business related computer (business data and data manipulation). Originally, I had the CPU cooled by an H80i from Corsair, so it ran at a very cool temperature. I loved it actually, but it is being placed into a different computer. I thought, ok, let's try the stock CoolerMaster cooler that came with the AMD chip. This was a big change from the cool days of the H80i, I now run in the 40s on idle and it is pretty loud when on high. The saving grace is that it was free with the chip and that the case has sound dampening features to make sure it isn't too loud. Needless to say, right away at boot, my motherboard told me it would not accept the overclock and requested stock settings for the CPU. The heat was too much of an issue. As for another interesting moment, I give you some advice--never, ever get your finger near a moving fan on a stock cpu cooler. That stock cooler was one of those horrific 4k RPM types that came out before the Wraith coolers.
