2/6/2026 update About a year ago, I updated to a VKB main stick and still use the throttle. So I stopped supporting this page since my bindings wouldnt be relevant. Recently, I've seen a renewed interest in this page and this hardware. I still have the stick, so this is what I MAY do (I'll really try) I'll do a fresh binding set that for the stick and throttle that is pretty general use and leave a few buttons open for customization. I will put LAMP on it. I'll then update this post in it's entirety for the current game. I do not know if I will do that again after that, but I want to give the community something to work with. I'll also provide some insights on fixing the Z-twist as it's really not to bad and often bugs after a few years. It is fixable. Hopefully in the next few weeks. But please understand it it takes me a bit longer. Fresh today! 3.19 made HOTAS bindings PDF control sheet/tracker: I made from scratch, a PDF sheet that is editable (you can easily edit the text with Acrobat reader). There is a HOTAS and HOSAS version. While I believe HOTAS setup to be somewhat superior :slightly_smiling_face: in this case, I recognize many people run dual sticks and love it. So enjoy! Blank PDF HOTAS: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UEb-Nu0kr03J2_dJteg1XhzYWjcuo2n1 Blank PDF HOSAS (dual stick) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KXl38Nb8qevtVYFcTMKR1mj6-MQvZa9k Links below updated xml to copy to game folder (HOTAS): [..StarCitizen\LIVE\USER\Client\0\Controls\Mappings] https://drive.google.com/file/d/1io3XXTeS7PHVc6AlQurlt-bpaT6out9q/view?usp=sharing PDF for bindings above 3.17.2 version https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DAYd52Rk4AhATclq77lqoOnPIwdjZvsv/view?usp=sharing Major change is no more quantum buttons. They made it two separate and I didn't think it was worth it like that. B it is! Mining toggle moved down. Top row left on base of stick, allows now for fire mode toggle (mostly a turrent thing), and then increase/decrease number of missles. all three are pretty "optional" for some pilots, so if there's something I dont have bound her that you want (like docking) then I'd loose those. So...MISSLE OPERATOR MODE Right thumb button now enters missile operator mode (note: your guns now do not work, this is by design by CIG not a problem with the bindings) While in this mode you can now select which missiles to use, with trigger (up) and Thumb middle (down) Also, once you have lock you can keep firing missiles at the target as long as lock doesn't break. You only need to tap to fire, hold fire is now dumb fire it appears Missile operator mode changes things drastically, please read CIG comments in the notes on how it works. Ground vehicles Throttle should work. Yaw on stick steers. Space brake is brake. From there, you are on your own! RECOMMENDED: changes to control settings In setting, controls, hit the right arrow until you are on HOTAS 2 Invert BOTH thrust forward(only) as well as strafe up/down. "Yes" is to invert XML bindings (HOTAS users only - as I don't have dual stick): You need to put this in your \StarCitizen\LIVE\USER\Client\0\Controls\Mappings folder. Once you are in game, you can go ESC > Options > Bindings (right tab) > Advanced control (button bottom right), then click on the Profiles button…you will see the name of the XML near the top of the list likely. Select it. You do not need to match up keyboard>keyboard and Mouse-Mouse if you don’t want my settings, which are default EXCEPT anyways except for the fact I have mouse 4 bound to free look. Assumption #1 : You have only a Mouse, keyboard and the throttle and stick as input devices. The game will assume that the stick is the default input, and the throttle as input 2. If you have something like a controller, or second stick, and it makes that device the default or input 2, then things won’t match up. In which case you either need to unplug that device, and reload SC to see if that makes things line up. Or just plan to bind everything yourself. Assumption #2: You aren’t using TARGET. Target profiles generally combine the 2 devices, so that SC see them as 1. This means that likely the throttle won’t have any bindings, since in mine it’s input 2, and now it’s part of the default input. If your target profile doesn’t merge, then you might be fine. Note: TARGET is not needed. W10 will install the correct drivers automatically (I assume W7 does to). Just plug them in, load up SC, make sure your bindings are set, and go! It’s important to note. That if you don’t load my profile, the stick will have default controls already set up, but the throttle WILL NOT. The game assume for Joystick/HOTAS that you only have the stick. So you either need to load a bindings profile like mine to get them bound – or bind them up yourself (which is how I make these bindings xmls) Throttle PRO TIP: It's in the manual but easy to read over. When the throttle is all the way forward, there is a screw you can access on the bottom that adjusts the slider tension.] Mining / Scan controls (all on the stick) Button on base: Deploy mining laser (disables weapons) Trigger: Toggle on/off mining-fracture laser, or the extraction lasers/tractor beam Middle thumb button: toggle between mining/fracture laser, and harvesting laser/tractor beam slider on stick base: controls laser power % (.1 -> 100%) Gaming Interface Client I ran into this on Star Citizen Reddit. It's free and it makes a Android Phone or Tablet into a button board, like Game Glass. He posts it on Github, Google Play AND Amazon. Which is great as I only have a Kindle. It's FREE. I have a 8" Kindle, and I've really loaded it up with buttons. You will find a picture of it below. New for 3.17.2! See image Here is my button export that you can import (made on an 8" Kindle) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bVeOS1nfg4LYjmKkIapQBdxbm4abFqDj/view?usp=sharing Here is the link to the reddit post to get more information: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/bodr01/gic_30_free_tablet_mfd_companion_app/ Update: there's a new version of the PC-client program. It's not super clear, so here's a link to it. Note that you will need to get the software on your android device AND download a little app for your PC. It's network based, not Bluetooth. Which I like. It looks like he updated it earlier this year and improved some ascpects of it, including several SC layouts you can try. Much thank to u/NorthYeg for the app and giving me permission to add it to my setup. This will now be a regular part of my setup I post here.
