Hi CIG community, it's been awhile since I've posted but I wanted to ask about control setups. I know there's a list of default control settings for various types of stick and throttle setups, but after playing microsoft flight simulator for awhile, I'm really hoping we can switch to a more device based setup. This is especially noticeable when trying to play with multiple devices, the game will label an axis somewhat like: "Axis 1 (input 1) (input 1)" and this can cause control schemes to become completely scrambled when a different device is removed and windows shuffles around which inputs are input 1, input 2, and so on. The team at Asobo solved this issue by identifying controllers by UID, allowing them to identify what the device was and automatically set up a default input control scheme, then you could tweak specific inputs to your desire. Now I haven't tested multiple of the same inputs (such as dual sticks for example) but tracking UIDs seems like it would go leagues above what we have now for those of us who want to play with a lot of input devices. What are the community's thoughts on Star Citizen potentially adding this to the game? I came to know about this because I currently use a stick and throttle X56 and thrustmaster TFRP. Normally this would be a fine setup but thrustmaster in their infinite wisdom decided that tweaking input values the way logitech (rip saitek) does by editing onboard memory was expensive, and instead offers special software that will consume the input and run it through a program that edits the value in real time, outputting it as a virtual input device. This shuffles my star citizen inputs if I ever want to play so I'm usually stuck having to restart the game due to forgetting to start the virtual input software. :c
