Im not sure if its a windows 10 issue or what.. I recently upgraded my i3 6100 to an i7 7700.. Everything works great, its awesome... but the internal sound from the motherboard stops working a few seconds to a minute after windows 10 full loads. I hear the windows chime, and then thats it. If I run a game the sound is non-existent, if I play a song through media player the sound is gone as well. The settings say the there are realtek speakers and headphones but they are greyed out acting like nothing is plugged into the jacks. I've gone as far as trying two sets of speakers and headphones into each jack and uninstalled and reinstalled the realtek driver from MSI (mobo manufacturer) like 10 times.. When Im in the bios, the motherboard does show speakers plugged into the jack. But when Im finally in windows it doesnt. This is why I think its a windows problem. i7 7700 MSI z170m motar motherboard 32gb DDR4 2400mhz ram (2x 16gb sticks) 1tb 850 evo SSD GTX 750ti Worked before the chip swap, just not after... So far my only solution is to get a usb sound card for my headphones which feels more like a bandaide fix.
