I've just bought myself a Mixed Reality HMD. I've never experienced VR before, so you can imagine how unique the experience was when I place the HMD on for the first time. I've played DCS World for many years, but nothing could prepare me for how completely different the game is in VR. I mean, the cockpit of the A10-C that I'm so use to flying literally popped out before my very eyes! What was previously all flat and featureless suddenly came to life in all its glory. The experience really was mind blowing and incredibly immersive. With that said and the VR experiences Microsoft have brought to the table, VR is without a shadow of doubt about to become more affordable and more popular than ever before. VR isn't the future, it's now and it's happening. Merely glimpsing around SteamVR's virtual room alone is just incredible. I don't know what CIG have in mind with schedules with regards to the implementation of VR in Star Citizen, but my advice to Chris Roberts and the devs is to make VR support for Star Citizen as much as a priority as getting 3.0 released, because the VR experience in TripleA games really is just simply incredible, and Star Citizen without VR support will only be a fraction to what it could be. Needless to say, my TrackIR now resides on the shelf and I won't be in any hurry to play 3.0 until VR support is implemented; once you've flown in VR you'll never go back to using a monitor.
