Hi all - I received my dual Kosmosima's yesterday, which an exciting day! Here's a couple of hints for newbie setups. I got confused so hopefully this helps someone: - The little black plastic circle with the bit sticking out of it is intended to replace the secondary trigger (the one hanging down in front of the main trigger on the Premium version) if you don't like that trigger - There's a small clamp that made up of two cylinders connected loosely by a screw, with a cutout on each of them. You need to line up those cutouts and insert the assembly into the horizontal hole at the bottom of the grip. Make sure the cutout is facing inward to complete the circular opening for the base to stick into. I had to fiddle my grip around to get it to slide on, then once it finally sat onto the grip I was then able to tighten the screw to hold the grip onto the base. - I found this FAQ on the VKB NA site that has some decent info. The manuals are TERRIBLE. https://vkbcontrollers.com/?page_id=14365 Aaaaaand, some questions for you more experienced folks: - Clutch dampers - I see a little "end piece" on the damper screw that moves up and down when I tighten and loosen the vertical screw that sticks up through the white plastic. It comes from the factory with that "end piece" all the way down. However the instructions say to loosen it, which I did. Then I played around with tightening it. I can't tell that it's making any difference until it's completely tight. I know these add friction to the axis movement, but it's pretty imperceptible. Have folks mostly left these alone, opened them up all the way, etc? - No-detent cam (#10) vs detent-cam (#30) - I'm curious what people's preferences are for space sim. With no detent it seems very floaty and cross-talk between axis, but on the other hand I like the easy movement. So, dunno. Maybe the answer is a #30 cam but keep a #20 spring or even #10 spring and very loose on the clutch? I can't believe that sentence made any sense. - It's not super clear to me how the combination of cams, springs, and clutch dampers plays together, and where I should start in customization. Any thoughts or experiences to share? Edit: poking around on reddit r/hotas it seems a lot of people suggest the following combo for space sim: #30 spring, #30 cam, fully loose clutch. Thoughts?
