I've been running a 4790k 4.0ghz on a Z97 since 2014.... when I first pledged. Since then I've maxed the ram out at 32gb ddr3, added a SSD and installed a GTX 1080 TI. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting I absolutely need to upgrade... far from it. I would however like to at least make sure my processor and DDR3 ram isn't drastically reducing the performance of what could otherwise be an awesome rig. Also, since it matters, I typically game at the highest resolution possible (monitor is a 65" 4k TV). So, any thoughts? Negating the price of RAM, is there anything that will give me a significant boost in performance over my existing setup for under $600? Or should I just hold off for a year? Is there something in the pipeline I should be aware of??? And one final thing.... this is a general hardware question. I know I don't need more computer to run SC - I just like having a nice rig and running the latest and greatest on max graphics at the highest resolution possible! :slightly_smiling_face: Update: So after getting everyone's input I'm probably just going to give it another 12-18 months. Really appreciate the input though - I did a fair bit of research before hand, but there's nothing like hearing what the community thinks and getting feedback on why to or not to upgrade (such as emerging technology or upcoming releases). Also, I decided to go OC my cpu and video card for the first time... a hold me over if you will. It's been fun actually - downloaded 3D Mark and I'm cracking 8700 on Time Spy. I don't have much of a baseline, but from what I've read that's a pretty decent score :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks again everyone for your input!
