Hello everyone! So I got a question for you. I have been looking around for CPU scaling tests of SC and the lastest one I found was from back in version 2.6 and the result was horrible when the number of cores went above 8 for this game. I am wondering if this have changed any since then? Right now I am on a Intel Core i5 4690K @ stock speed with 16GB of RAM and a MSI Sea Hawk X GTX 1080. My plan is to upgrade CPU(not gfx for at least 2-3 years more) and I really do not like to upgrade that often so I rather spend larger amount of money and get a rig that is somewhat secured for the next 5 years of gaming. Since every other game I have still runs @ 1080p above 60fps with my settings on highest I have felt that my CPU is good enough for what I need and therefore have decided to wait with getting a new CPU until SC would be finished. But now about 1 year before the SQ42 release my CPU have become somewhat lacking in gaming performance for some of the titles that I play. So Zen2 is what I am looking at. The question is if this game still results in horrible performance when you have a more than 8 cores in the CPU? My plan is to go for a 16C/32T Zen2 when it gets released but I am uncertain of it because of the cpu scaling test that I found from back in version 2.6. I personally feel that 8C will not be enough for the next 5-8 years of gaming that I want out of my next rig which is why my main focus is on a 16C/32T one instead. What do you guys think?
