Hi all, I'm not sure if this has been asked before in these forums but I couldn't see a sticky or anything linked so here it goes. Backstory: My motherboard and CPU just died and I need to replace it, this replacement will most likely carry me into the SC release period and I was wondering which process model SC will work best with: 1) Scale well with more cores and if so how many is better, will there be a limit? 2) Rely on clock speed and IPC performance more, will the ideal system be something with 4 / 6 cores with very high clock rates? Long story short I'm looking at Ryzen 5 1600x (6 cores, OCed 4 GHz on air), Ryzen 7 1700x (8 Cores, OCed to 4 GHz on air) or I7 7800X (6 Cores OCed to 4.5 GHz+ on water). When the game launces I'll upgrade my GPU to whatever is best single card whether it's 1080 Ti or vega 64 whatever and go to town. (Most likely 1080 Ti). I don't want to have to spend more money than I have to so if the game scales well with cores up to 8 for example then I'll get the 1700X but if it only scales well up to six cores and wants faster IPC I'll go with the 7800x platform. Then again if it scales up to 6 cores and maxes the GPU out with the 6 at 4 GHz why pay more? Just looking for some advice from the Devs or someone with a reference to evidence on how the game will scale. :blush: Thanks in advance.
