I use ccleaner for registry cleanup and before my SSD I defragged my HD's with defraggler. I also use the free version of malwarebytes for additional scans on malware. I am using the free version of AVG antivirus, but in the market for a better free home use antivirus. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner - free version http://www.piriform.com/defraggler - free version (not to be used on a SSD) https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download - free version (be careful of other software it may try and install. JUST SAY NO  ) AVG antivirus has worked pretty well for me, but I am not going to recommend it at this time. I always check windows updates, and my computer manufacturer's website for non-video driver updates (dell.com for me). I have a nvidia GTX 980M, and I always use the latest drivers. These habits have kept my machine running very smoothly (generally speaking). What habits do you have?
