Hey everyone! We have a Bar Citizen scheduled around the same time as the Comicpalooza Convention here in Houston that takes place over the weekend of July 15 - 17 this year, 2022. This convention is something very special to Houston and very much akin to a PAX but expanded to all of pop culture, including video games! There's a big Star Wars costuming group presence and a great time all around. (They had sword fighting lessons in the past!) NASA has also been a big exhibitor in the past, showcasing some of their spacesuits and even bringing some moon rocks the last time I was there. Comicpalooza is still in the process of announcing guests, panels, etc. (I should mention perhaps that I'm not affiliated with Comicpalooza; this is just a fun gathering and pop culture convention that our group has gathered around and attended together in the past with a Bar Citizen scheduled around the same time. Especially considering the sad loss of PAX South, we're looking forward to this gathering locally). I wanted to get this July one posted asap early since you all might consider a Comicpalooza vacation as well. We hope to see you there! Brown Convention Center and within walking distance from major hotels in the area such as the Hilton Americas-Houston (I have personally stayed here and would recommend it; I'm sure the others are great as well!), the Marriott Marquis-Houston, the Hampton Inn Houston Downtown, and the Embassy Suites by Hilton Houston. Around Discovery Green Park is also a good place, but these spots are usually taken first. - Parking garage called Avenida South Garage is next to The Rustic and certainly within walking distance.
