The group's founder is MagiK. Who are the Brown Coats? Why we are just Big Damn Heroes. Or not…Sometimes we might not be carrying the most legal of cargo, but we actively seek to ensure we are not hurting plain simple folks. We won’t traffic in human slavery, nor harmful drugs. But we may occasionally transport someone who doesn't wish the general public to know they are traveling, or carry guns, food or medicine to those in need. Brown Coats will also be explorers, traders, couriers and white hats riding to the rescue of those in need or suffering depredations of pirates. Obviously, being able to keep the Brown Coats true to the spirit of the Firefly universe (but not seeking to recreate Whedon’s universe in Star Citizen) will depend on just how granular the Reputation system will be in the game. One thing that will not be tolerated is general piracy against plain folks…. and griefing will get you a one way ticket out. Obviously, over time as more is known about the game we will form a better idea on the details of the workings of this Gathering of Brown Coats, but for now this is a start. How do I become a Brown Coat With the Forums and Spectrum being implemented right now this process is currently in flux. Be aware that this process may be changing in the future. You'll see those additional rules when you apply. BUT! Membership really comes down to joining us in game, via Star Citizen when it officially gets released. We just have 3 main rules in this guild, don't break them or join any orgs that do. 1. No piracy: if you are caught provoking and acquiring ships by illegal means you will be brought for review before a board of captains. 2. No Slaving: if you are caught slave trading you will be brought for review before a board of captains. 3. No narcotic trading: if you are caught selling illegal drugs you will be brought for review before a board of captains. As for everything else you rely on good judgement (or swift cunning) with the law. Also, always remember the importance of Wheaton's law.
