https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNBalohW-xc OUR MISSION STATEMENT Chimera Assets and Security Holdings began with a singular mission: to create an environment where an older, working gamer could meet like-minded players and enjoy a well-run community where they felt they had a sense of ownership. That goal has since expanded to a second tenet: to leverage our resources as an organization to empower our members to realize their full potential, both as gamers and as people. Our decisions moving forward are all based around the preceding two goals: our officers at all levels are trusted with a great deal of responsibility, and our decision-making process involves engaging the community rather than making unilateral choices. OUR GOALS As it pertains to Star Citizen, Chimera seeks to be a legally-aligned corporate entity dealing in all mercantile activities, as well as PMC actions. We have divided ourselves into three core operating groups: the Transport (transport/trade/salvage/mining), the Security (trade escort/combat/capital ship crew), and the Intelligence (exploration/medical/info-running) Divisions. These divisions are not intended to be silos for players to be locked into, but social groupings that allow people to see at a glance the interests of players in the forum and Discord. Our immediate goals are the securing of a strong foothold in the transport industry, as well as the outfitting of our organization's Javelin, the CWS Thomas Selleck. Long-term goals will be assessed when further information about the game is released and we have a clearer picture of what the "end-game" content will look like. At this juncture though, we will expand on that initial economic success to become a major player in the econ metagame. COMMUNITY BENEFITS Chimera will be offering considerable resources to its members moving forwards, with more and more programs coming online coinciding with the releases of RSI modules. Currently, we have weekend courses on flight techniques in Arena Commander and the PTU, as well as an ample knowledge base of ship information, game information, and orientations for new players. As we and CIG move forwards, we will be offering the following: Chimera offers a fully-stocked community-owned Hangar. These ships are owned by the org itself rather than a single or group of player(s), and will be available for rent to org members at a minor fee intended to cover carrying costs. The hangar includes 2 of most ships, ranging from a dozen Auroras to a Polaris, to 3 Idrises (2 -P variants and an -M variant) as well as a Javelin. As soon as ship-sharing goes live, this hangar will be released to all members. Its intent is to provide an avenue for players to play the game at a different level than their personal ships allow. if 10 members are online, why should they be locked into content suitable for 10 Hornets when they could form a full Polaris crew? An exclusive real-estate property on a major planet, the as-yet-unnamed club (expect a Magnum PI reference) will serve as a prestige piece and location for members to congregate in the 'verse. The club will be outfitted to the furthest extent CIG allows, with no expense spared, to reflect not just the aesthetic and culture of our organization, but to maximize its utility to members. As a service to the community, Chimera also participates in the public MMHC program that allows any player during the alpha stages to tour it at their leisure. To fully engage our membership, which spans 5 continents and nearly a dozen time zones, we will be running weekend-long community events themed around multiple activities. These are still being considered for feasibility, but we have been focusing our attentions on thinking of some scenarios that will best engage all three Divisions without relying on any "pre-made" content such as raid-type missions. If you have a plan, mission, or enterprise you think would benefit the Chimera brand, we have VC available! Chimera is about the empowerment of its members and innovative, enterprising solutions to complex problems. To that end, our leadership team is not the last word on an issue, and if we feel that an idea has merit, we will provide funding to realize the solution (for a nominal fee, or percentage of ongoing profits.) RECRUITMENT AND JOINING Chimera is currently actively recruiting and accepting applications. However, we are a curated community, meaning that an application does not guarantee membership. We pride ourselves on our community, and due to our recruiting process, have had very little in the way of drama, personal conflicts, or even had to institute an age floor (such as 18+ or 21+) in our three and a half years as a gaming group. We follow three simple steps when recruiting: 1. If an application is put in via our Google Form, we will contact the player through our forums as well as the RSI website to schedule an interview in our Discord. 2. If an application is put in via RSI, we will contact the recruit through the RSI website and request they also submit an application on our forums, as well as schedule an interview on Discord. 3. The Discord interview is the core factor in determining membership. In this interview, 2-3 officers (usually the Board of Directors or, for non-US applicants, two Executives tasked with overseeing international recruitment) will not only go over what our org is about and field any specific questions, but assess the interviewee's gaming and real-life personalities. At the end of the interview, the overseeing recruiters will decide whether the candidate is a good fit for the community, and if so, approve the forum application, assign the candidate's chosen Division, assign rank on the RSI website, and introduce them to the other members. If an applicant is considered to not be a good fit for the community, they will be informed by the recruiters (including what caused the reservation) and their applications cancelled. APPLICATION LINKS: ORG PAGE: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/CASH APPLICATION FORM: https://goo.gl/forms/EPNsPQpeleQvrNUn1 CASH accepts affiliate members, but with reduced privileges as the game moves forward. Affiliate members will have restricted access to the community hangar, will not be able to enter the Million Mile High Club unless serving as ambassadors for their main organization or under specific circumstances, and will be exempt from any financial incentives instated later. Official organization ambassadors from allied entities will be afforded more privileges than purely affiliate members, but what the differences will be has yet to be determined. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNBalohW-xc
