December Update: Cloud 9 is being restructured to promote a variety of activities, provide opportunities for new leadership and management, and to accommodate the new concepts for org features in the 'verse as introduced at 2954 CitizenCon, particularly the part about guild alignment. As a part of the update, we are opening up to members—new and veteran alike—who would like to participate in any of these ways: For those who are busy IRL and have limited time for SC, both leadership and casual group activities are available. For those who are available for a more immersive group experience, both leadership and structured crews are available. We currently have the following openings. Less time commitment for general activities: Anyone! While we offer dedicated positions, we are also open to what we simply call Anybody Anytime Activities. We also have Open Activities, which are pretty much the same except they have recurring schedules. For those would like to dip their toes in the water, we have Hybrid Activities, a midway point between open and crews. Less time commitment in leadership: Operations: unlike crew operations, this is more of a business focus. Engagement: citizen recruitment, orgs, crews, and customer outreach. Technology: currently focused on building/rebuilding Cloud 9 websites. More time commitment for group activities: Join us, become a citizen, form/join a crew, and regularly participate with your crew. Crews are the meat and potatoes of our org activities, and we need active members for them. More time commitment in leadership: 6 new openings in org leadership, each in a law-abiding area that focuses on a different guild alignment. Exploration, Medical, Security, Resources, Trade & Transport, Entertainment. After org features and guild alignment features are added to the 'verse, we will be able to maximize the benefits through each guild: Academy of Science Mercenary Guild United Resource Workers Interstellar Transport Guild Imperial Sports Federation The Council This will make it possible for members to continue to run ops with the same group of people without risking sacrificing representation or loyalty by going over to another group. Are you a veteran to Star Citizen with preference to dive right into the thick of it? Would you like to participate in activities via crews and build org fleets in structured fun ways? About Us Cloud 9 is an international organization that has been around in Star Citizen since 2016 / 2946. We are welcoming nice, fun, law-abiding civilians from all around the world, including the US, Europe, and Australia, or who have schedules that line up with common availability of members in those regions. English is our main language and fluency in the language is required. We have multilingual chat channels available to members who would also like to communicate with each other there. Need Members As the forum post tag says, Need Members pretty much sums it up. We have over 100 members, most of which are from the old days and have either shelved Star Citizen permanently or until full release, or who have been generally flying solo and are waiting until org features come online to proceed with group activities. We are looking forward to our veteran members becoming active again, while also in need of members who would like to participate now. Our priority goes to members who place us as priority over other orgs, so members who set Cloud 9 as their main org on the RSI site and who will be loyal and represent us. Main members who take the next step become Cloud 9 Citizens. Our main members and C9 citizens can also join Cloud 9 Crews. Activities Our activities on our RSI page list Exploration as primary and Resources as secondary, and we have a third, which we simply call Survival. We ensure Survival is covered first through our organized activities, then Resources, after which we dive into Exploration. We cover all professions and collectively, among all of us, we have all of the ships and ground vehicles. We abide by the law, our own above all others, then others that align with ours, including the UEE. Anyone interested in noncombat and/or PVE and/or PVP is welcome. Our main rule: be nice and fun. We are not listed as an RP org but do provide roleplay opportunities for members interested in it. Additional Opportunities We also extend to cover more activities beyond Cloud 9 in Star Citizen. This org takes priority over our other activities, while the others add an exciting dynamic and potential for additional fun. One of them is our alt org for the those who would like to participate in outlaw activities while remaining lawful in C9. Cloud 9 Games (C9G) is our outlet for participating in C9 group settings in various online games. We also have a multi-group collaborative opportunity that will receive the spotlight later on down the road. New and veteran members have opportunities to join Cloud 9 Project Phoenix, which is a small group of our most loyal members who gather for two main purposes: run ops in the 'verse as a crew and serve in lead roles on a general C9 level to help accomplish the objectives and goals of Cloud 9. During the upcoming months, we aim to establish important lead roles. Refer to the update at the top of this message for that information.
