I've already had a post in general forum about having 90% NPCs and them controlling the economy, and stated I thought this was a good idea ( based on large orgs behaving badly in many other MMOs ). It just seems that large orgs are the bane of small orgs and individual players in MMOs, and since large orgs aren't going to act like one large organism ( with the exception of major battles ). It seems that you'd send smaller groups out for cargo hauls, mining, salvaging, etc. and then have the smaller groups pay a tithe to the org they belong to. How would this not compete with small orgs and individual players? From what I understand the economy will be based on supply and demand and needs of the moment. Those needs would be affected by war, pirates, scarcity, or even an influx of large quantities. With NPCs being in control of the economy this would negate the affects that large orgs would have on prices. This would increase the ability of individuals and small orgs to survive.
