INSUN IS REAL LIFE COMPATIBLE InterSun Aerospace [INSUN] is a welcoming home for adults who may be unable or unwilling to commit to 24/7 schedules and alarm-clock style gaming. We're an org run by adults, for adults. We understand that the real life adult world is full of commitments (e.g. work, family, sport, study, etc) and that these things have to be more important than gaming. We won't make you log on at set times and we believe that only YOU can and should decide when YOU have the time to play Star Citizen. For example, we won't force you to loiter on voicecomms or make you attend mandatory "training" at set times. INSUN IS A TEAM Some of our members may be time-poor but we all enjoy playing games well, and as part of an organised team. We use "brevity words" and a chain of command to make us more proficient at the game. A side effect is greater ingame immersion, but no one in INSUN will require you to call them "Sir" or similar. We may be busy in real life but when we get online, we like to be the best Star Citizens we can be. We don't make outlandish claims of being the "best" or "elite", and we don't need you to be that either. This is, all said and done, a GAME. Gaming shouldn't have to be hard work. We are however highly competent and experienced gamers, we have amazing lateral thinkers among our leadership and a number of extremely expert pilots. We strive to be a successful and competitive org in this universe. We'd be very pleased to help you to get the most you can from this game with whatever time you have available. INSUN IS 18+ Since it is often hard for younger folks, who are yet to hold a full-time job or undertake tertiary study, to understand why we don't try to force people to log on at set times, we ask that anyone who applies to INSUN be at least 18 years old (this is merely a matter of managing expectations, and nothing else - yes we can consider age exceptions for mature individuals). INSUN IS CASUAL TO REGULAR INSUN is labelled as "casual" commitment on the RSI site but we have a place for folks from casual to regular. We do have a "hardcore" leadership team who keep the wheels turning, but we don't expect others to be "hardcore". The majority of our Members are "casual" to "regular" commitment gamers. We definitely won't try to force you to commit more to Star Citizen than you want and/or what your RL will allow. INSUN IS EXCLUSIVE If you do find the time to play Star Citizen, we ask that you play with INSUN and not split your limited game-time with other orgs. That's the trade-off for an org that will not demand that you log in at set times or for minimum periods. In practice that means we operate under an exclusive org model (i.e. members make INSUN their main org and they don't join as affiliates of other orgs). We make an exception for Operation Pitchfork on the basis that it exists for a one-time celebratory event that will not continue to draw people away from INSUN activity and joint goals. INSUN IS ABOUT PEOPLE (NOT ACCOUNTS OR PLEDGE SHIPS) In keeping with the above, we focus on recruiting real life PEOPLE to our group (you know, the PERSON behind the keyboard and the account). We want YOU and not your accounts or pledge ships or leaderboard standing. We genuinely do not grow our group for the sake of size alone (and we do not stack our membership with alts or affiliates). We do not automatically accept anyone who applies to us and we never send out membership invitations. We advertise our existence and we ask interested folks to apply to us. During our application process we try to make sure that people understand our values and culture before we accept them. Good recruitment is about trying to make sure that both the person and the org are a good match (and not just an encounter of convenience). We seek only like-minded people who want a tight-knit community without trolling, flaming or angst. We'd rather be a smaller group and know that we can rely on anyone online who wears the INSUN logo. Moreover, as busy adults, we don't want childish trash-talk or rage-induced outbursts. Bullying and mockery is not allowed. Our private forums and voicecomms are friendly and welcoming. In INSUN, we value friendly and relaxed people who are good-natured and don't feel the need to wave their ego in other people’s face. Our culture is founded on everyone (esp. org leadership) treating their fellow members with courtesy and respect. OUR TIME ZONES - INSUN is genuinely active around the clock. We are a truly global community. English does not need to be your first language, and we're very understanding when it comes to accents, spelling, grammar. Our private forums are a central feature of our org that enables us to efficiently bridge time zones. OUR EXPERIENCE - We have substantial experience running global gaming communities. We have led successful groups in many other games, including: City of Heroes, Eve Online, EverQuest II, Pardus, Star Trek Online, Star Wars Combine, Star Wars Galaxy, The Old Republic, World of Warcraft.
