TEXAS is an open organization of diverse individuals with a desire to do their own thing but also be a part of something bigger. We encourage individual, group, and org wide play. TEXAS itself will focus mainly on resource gathering, cargo running, exploring, and military actions, but will dabble in most professions in the 'Verse. We currently have three branches that we are looking for people to fill. 1) TEXAS Space Navy - TSN - Our military branch that handles all security tasks and any direct or indirect actions out in the verse. 2) TEXAS Public Relations and Outreach - Pro - They are responsible for brokering alliances, trade deals, administrative outpost duties, everything to do with medical, news media, and sports teams. 3) TEXAS Civilian Resource and Industry Team - CRIT - Collecting resources, cargo hauling, and all other mercantile activities. Each branch will have a hierarchy or command structure to be somewhat organized, whether it be loose or more disciplined, depending on the need. You are welcome to join more than one branch, as many members will. Special Forces for the Navy are The TEXAS Space Navy Ranger Division and will be mainly dedicated to the arts of combat in space, atmosphere, and on the ground. All those wishing to join the Rangers will need to express their interest in doing so and work toward passing the minimum requirements to be accepted in that Legendary Unit. TEXAS places its roots back on old Earth and has a strong pride in its long and storied history. The UEE has tried to suppress some of that individuality and TEXAS spirit, but like the many who tried before, has largely failed. TEXAS on Earth will always be near and dear to every Texan heart, but with the advent of space exploration, transforming, and colonization, TEXAS is seeking out a system and planet to call its own, away from UEE authority. With the Vanduul more frequently raiding into UEE space, TEXAS has been given special dispensation to build up the Navy, reactivate the Ranger special forces units, and take the fight to the enemy. This just happens to be the perfect cover to also explore new systems and quietly find a new home among the Stars. TEXANS are the friendliest and most polite people in the 'Verse. That is unless you piss one off. Then we are the bravest, meanest, toughest, SOB's anyone has ever met. We fight hard, ruthlessly, and with fervor few can match. We have had many hundreds of years to hone our fighting abilities, and we aren't scared to use them. So if you see one of us, expect a smile, a handshake, a pat on the back, pull of a chair and have a drink with us, because it's better to be friends than enemies, and more profitable.
